Construction Update

The South Suburban Board of Directors awarded the construction contract at their June 10 meeting. The contractor is set to begin construction in early August. At that time, the playground and basketball court, and a portion of the parking lot will be fenced off with construction fencing and demolition will commence. The multiuse sports field and a portion of the parking lot will be open to the residents and practicing sports teams. Please note that water will not be available at the park until late September due to the water fountain being within the construction area. Staff anticipate construction to be complete and the playground will be reopened around the end of October, however, the shade shelter may not be installed until as late as December due to long lead times from the shelter vendor.
