South Suburban staff kicked off the Palos Verdes Park Improvements project in May 2025 by completing a topographic and boundary survey, and hiring a design consultant for the project. Improvements will include replacement of the aging playground equipment, shelter and site furnishings with new play equipment, shelter and amenities. It is anticipated that a new san-o-let shelter will be added to the park as part of the project to house the san-o-let currently located along the west side of the multipurpose field. In order to achieve improved accessibility from the existing parking along E. Orchard Drive to the playground, the aging pedestrian bridge will be replaced with a new wider bridge over Greenwood Gulch. Improvements will also be made to the parking area and pedestrian crossings from the neighborhood to the west of the park.

Our design consultant has begun a thorough assessment of the site’s opportunities and constraints, which will serve as a guide in developing the conceptual site plan. Some initial meetings with the City of Centennial are being scheduled to explore improvements to the parking along E. Orchard Drive which will help to shape the conceptual site plan.
Further updates, including information on public engagement opportunities, will be shared as the concept plan takes shape.
