The South Suburban Golf Course will undergo a vital upgrade to its irrigation system, with construction anticipated to begin at the end of September 2026 and last until approximately the beginning of June 2027. The course will remain open for play during construction with revised routings to avoid holes under active construction. Please pay attention to any revisions to the course routing when playing golf during the construction process, and respect any hole closures.
The new irrigation system will replace the existing aging system for the 18-hole regulation course, the 9-hole par-3 course, the driving range, and the entryway and clubhouse landscape areas. In addition to new pipes and sprinklers, the project will also include a new state-of-the-art irrigation controller. This will give the maintenance staff better control of the system, allowing for improved turf conditions while simultaneously reducing water usage. The project is also expected to reduce the amount of irrigated turf by up to 50 acres, further reducing water usage and operational costs, and allowing the staff to focus their efforts and resources on the most critical areas of golf play.
