Writers Vista Park is a hub of recreational activity for area residents and serves as a trailhead for the High Line Canal Trail. A new restroom and shade pavilion will be installed to improve accessibility and meet the unique needs of park and trail users. The new pavilion is larger, which will provide greater shade coverage and additional seating capacity. The new flush restroom will include ADA accessible stalls and an ADA compliant drinking fountain.

    As of Monday 6/24, the new Writer's Vista Park restrooms have been opened for public use and the portable toilets removed from the park. The contractor has completed connection of the sanitary sewer lines to the restrooms, however, some additional site work and cleanup may be ongoing for several more days. South Suburban thanks the public for their patience during completion of this project and we hope you enjoy the new facilities.

    Construction was started today on the sanitary sewer line replacement for the park restrooms. We anticipate work to be ongoing for approximately 2 weeks. Please be mindful of the construction activity and traffic control signage along the west shoulder of S. Peninsula Drive. There will be no roadway closures in place during construction, however the contractor may require short duration roadway restrictions to move construction equipment to and from the site. The sidewalk will be closed for the duration of the work.

    Additionally, the contractor will be using an area in the parking lot on the east side of S. Peninsula Drive for a staging area to store materials and equipment during construction.

    We appreciate the neighborhood's patience and look forward to the new park restrooms being opened to the public very soon!

    Discussions between SSPRD staff, City of Littleton engineers, and the design consultant regarding design changes to the sewer service infrastructure at Writers Vista Park are ongoing. We appreciate your patience as we make necessary and advisable improvements for use of the new restroom facility.

    The shade pavilion is available for use. Plans to repair the sewer line are ongoing. The new restrooms will remain closed until sewer line repairs are complete.

    Due to unforeseen circumstances with the existing sewer line in the park, opening of the new restroom has been postponed until further notice. SSPRD is in communication with the contractor who installed the restroom to determine an updated schedule and cost for the expanded scope. The shelter will be available for use beginning in September.
