South Suburban is updating Cherry Knolls Park. The proposed updates include upgrading the existing playground area and the restroom. The playground area will include a larger shade pavilion, new playground equipment, poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing, and supporting amenities like benches and trash receptacles. The restroom improvements will include a complete interior and exterior renovation. Additionally, the remaining crusher fines sections of Big Dry Creek Trail will be converted to concrete providing a consistent trail surface throughout the park. Benches will be installed along the trail at the north end of the park.

Community members are invited to provide input on proposed improvements at Cherry Knolls Park through an online survey, open now through Sept. 10. Neighbors are also invited to an in-person public input event at the shade pavilion near the playground area at Cherry Knolls Park on Sept. 10 from 4-6 pm.

Below are renderings of the upgrades proposed for the existing restroom building. The building will undergo a complete interior and exterior renovation which will include the addition of an extended roofline on the front of the building, providing shade and shelter for park and trail users at the restroom entrances. The design is meant to add articulation and interest to the existing building.
