Upgrades are coming to Cornerstone Park!
Cornerstone Park is a 66-acre regional park located at the intersection of S. Windermere St. and W. Belleview Ave. In 2022, South Suburban was awarded an ACOS planning grant to identify improvements to the park to meet current and future needs. This study found that paving the northern parking lots is the highest priority for the park because it is necessary to establish finish grades and provide infrastructure for other future park elements and improvements. In addition to paving the unpaved parking lots, other proposed improvements include concrete flatwork for connections from the parking lots into the park, landscaping and parking lot lighting, traffic and parking signage, stormwater improvements, and a new paved access road connection from the northern lots to the southeast lots. These upgrades make up Phase I of the Cornerstone Park Improvement Project.

The contractor is beginning to set up the site containment fencing around the construction area. SSPRD staff is working on maps showing the construction area, parking areas that will remain open during construction, and routes to access the playground and basketball courts which will remain open during construction.
