Public Input Requested : Preliminary Site Plan, 1st Amendment, Aug. 20-Sept. 3

Dear Littleton Residents,

South Suburban Parks and Recreation and the City of Littleton request your input on the proposed amendment to the approved 2023 Jackass Hill Park Site Plan. The purpose of the amendment is to preserve the key elements of the 2023 plan, including accessibility standards, while addressing concerns from the adjacent neighborhoods.

The Preliminary Site Plan,1st Amendment, illustrates the extent of the improvements recommended for implementation. Click here to view the amended Site Plan. The plan features:

• A combination of 8' wide soft surface (crusher fines) and colored concrete pathways, with the majority in soft surface pathways
• Concrete pathways are limited to slopes, stairs, and an accessible route from a designated accessible parking space on W. Dry Creek Ct. to the Vista Terrace and to S. Prince St.
• All concrete will be colored to better blend with the surrounding native vegetation
• Converting some existing social paths to soft surface (crusher fines) and restoring native revegetation where other social paths are removed
• No changes are proposed for the Vista Terrace
• Interpretative signage provided at the Vista Terrace and the Carson House Foundation
• Additional native shrubs to separate the pathway and Vista Terrace from the adjacent house

The following elements were removed from the original approved site plan:

• More than 50% of concrete pathways
• Nature play area and discovery paths
• The overlook on the north parcel with a shade shelter and benches
• Designated on-street parking spaces on W. Sunset Dr.
