In the fall of 2022, South Suburban and Arapahoe County Open Spaces kicked off a study to identify potential improvements to enhance access and experience for trail users. This study identified the South Platte Park East Trail Bridge Replacements as a priority project. The second phase of the Mary Carter Greenway Trail Study will take this priority project through the design process to produce construction drawings.     The design consultant completed hydraulic modeling and cost estimates for two proposed pedestrian bridges to replace existing structures beyond their useful life in South Platte Park. Final designs are anticipated to be complete by the end of April.

    On February 24, South Suburban and City of Littleton staff met at South Platte Park to discuss prefabricated bridge options that will replace the two existing pedestrian bridges. Designs were approved and submitted to manufactures for pricing and a tentative installation timeline. Responses from bridge manufacturers are expected at the end of March.
