Aurora Water and Xcel have confirmed that the proposed improvements within their easements will not adversely affect existing agreements. Next steps include submitting the plan to the City of Centennial for a pre-submittal meeting, followed by a public open house to gather community input. South Suburban continues to work with Xcel on the Encroachment Application review timeline.

It has been approximately six weeks since the Encroachment Application was submitted for review. South Suburban has not yet received any comments.

An Encroachment Application has been submitted to Xcel and is currently under review. This step is necessary to determine whether playground equipment can be located within the overhead power easement and to confirm the maximum allowable height for the equipment.

The review process is expected to take approximately four weeks. Once complete, the conceptual design can be finalized, and a public input meeting will be scheduled to review the concept.

Staff continues to coordinate with Xcel and the Aurora Water District to update the necessary easements and license agreements in support of a successful conceptual design.

Staff is actively collaborating with the design consultant on a conceptual site plan. They have selected a design and will next seek approval from Xcel and the Aurora Water District before gathering public input and beginning the Land Development Process with City of Centennial.

We are excited to announce that a design consultant has been selected to lead the improvements at Sunset Park. The consultant has begun a thorough assessment of the site’s opportunities and constraints, which will serve as a guide in developing the conceptual site plan.
