Hudson Gardens Vision Plan: Cultivate the Future

South Suburban is inviting the community to "cultivate the future" of The Hudson Gardens & Event Center through a public engagement campaign. Community members are encouraged to share their ideas and help shape the future of this beloved scenic space.

Hudson Gardens is committed to serving as a recreational, educational, and cultural hub for the community. The Hudson Gardens Vision Plan will enhance the gardens as a destination for celebrations and events, expand offerings, and ensure long-term sustainability.

Since assuming operations of Hudson Gardens, South Suburban has allocated more than $5.4 million for Capital Improvement Projects through 2025. The largest project to date is the $2.6 million Pond and Stream Improvement Project. The Hudson Gardens Vision Plan will build on these investments and guide future improvements and programming over the next decade.

The public will have multiple opportunities to provide input, including events at Hudson Gardens, pop-up events in the area, stakeholder and focus group discussions, and an online survey.

Together, we can cultivate a vibrant future for Hudson Gardens for years to come.

I really miss the summer concerts, which over the years gave me the best concert experiences of my life. They spoiled me rotten because they were affordable, and I could get great seats close to the stage. Hudson Gardens is a wonderful venue for concerts, and I don't understand why all of the national acts have stopped coming. I saw a lot of big names at Hudson Gardens. What a waste that you don't offer this opportunity to the community anymore. Concerts (featuring national names) are so expensive otherwise, I can't afford to see them anywhere else. These concerts were also a great revenue source for you. Please bring them back.

It's been disappointing that the summer concert series, along with other entertaining events, have not returned. I understand the shutdown during COVID, but the wonderful venue HG provides should be taken advantage of. I have volunteered at HG a few years prior to COVID, with the Christmas lights and Beer Fest. I have stopped in the gift shop, talked with Sandra often and simply don't understand why HG is not utilized more for events.
Is it cost, lack of paid/volunteer help, or lack of management personnel and/or skills willing to schedule events? No judgment, just asking. :-)

Thanks,

I would like to see permaculture-based edible and medicinal perennial gardens like a food forest. This would be an awesome educational space for those interested in growing some of their own food and medicine in their own yards without the intensive work of annual vegetable gardens. I live next did in the Switchback apartments and am a professional regenerative landscape designer/installer. I’d love to help with this, please reach out!

Our family loves Hudson Gardens. It is one of the last few places where people from the surrounding areas can enjoy the peaceful beauty that makes it so unique to Littleton. It has been well managed and has not been overdeveloped, so it is not as overcrowded as many other special places in Littleton today.

The space is so great and could use improvement in its utility to the community. Consider things like farmers markets, restaurant/break space beyond what Nixon provides. Second, Littleton is a dearth of spaces for artists to perform/have events, help be the hub for that.....as you know Hudson Gardens receives lodger tax revenue from (Tier 1).

We would love to see some fun, new, renewable energy features integrated into the gardens (examples: solar lights along garden paths, a water wheel that generates hydroelectricity for a fountain, or kinetic sculptures / wind spinners / decorative wind turbine panels that add beauty and generate clean renewable energy for Hudson Gardens!
