Hudson Gardens Vision Plan
Hudson Gardens Vision Plan: Cultivate the Future
South Suburban is inviting the community to "cultivate the future" of The Hudson Gardens & Event Center through a public engagement campaign. Community members are encouraged to share their ideas and help shape the future of this beloved scenic space.
Hudson Gardens is committed to serving as a recreational, educational, and cultural hub for the community. The Hudson Gardens Vision Plan will enhance the gardens as a destination for celebrations and events, expand offerings, and ensure long-term sustainability.
Since assuming operations of Hudson Gardens, South Suburban has allocated more than $5.4 million for Capital Improvement Projects through 2025. The largest project to date is the $2.6 million Pond and Stream Improvement Project. The Hudson Gardens Vision Plan will build on these investments and guide future improvements and programming over the next decade.
The public will have multiple opportunities to provide input this fall, including events at Hudson Gardens, pop-up events in the area, stakeholder and focus group discussions, and online surveys.
Together, we can cultivate a vibrant future for Hudson Gardens for years to come.

I like the accessibility by trail, free access during the day, river in the park.
I would like to see a kids fishing pond.
I like that it's free, it's always open, clean, fun to walk around, good places to sit and relax. I like the veggie garden. I would like to see a water fountain added.
It's beautiful park, with trails and beautiful plants and trees. Absolutely in love with Christmas Lights. Maybe a little more parking. It's so hard to park even non-event days.
We like the many paths and that the gardens are open to the public during the day. The parking areas was confusing to navigate.
We like that there is a cafe here and restrooms. It could be nice to have restrooms at the other end. There are a lot of events, which is cool, but can interfere with coming here when my schedule allows.
I like the open space, good trails. I would like to see more marketing.
I like the open layout, free access, and events and activities throughout the year (like jackolanterns). I would like to see more promotion of events and improvements.
I like the proximity to the bike trail. I am a gardener so I LOVE ALL THE PLANTS.
I would like to see more info on the garden available at the trail.
I like that it is kid friendly, open and clean, festive.
I would like to see more bathroom access.
I like everything - your knowledgable volunteers, seeing nature through the seasons, the Victoria Water Lily Pond & the Monet Lilly Garden. Saturday music at Nixon's! Please keep up your wonderful care of the magical place! Thank you.
I would like to see more advertising for free concerts.
I love to walk around with my grandkids all during the year and see how it changes. I think it's wonderful just the way it is.
It's beautiful. I love bike riding. Maybe more wildlife.
I like how well the grounds are kept and the space for kids to play. Maybe some wild life like chickens or a bigger play area for kids.
I love the park par and the cafe is in the right place. Maybe more parking.
I love that it is open to the public free of charge. I also like that it promotes program such as the gardens for the university and the beekeeping. I would like to see maybe a community garden or more fitness activities as well.
It's a nice walk and the gardens are pretty. Maybe fish added to the pond or sculptures.
As a mom, Hudson Gardens is a godsend. Being able to come here with my toddler for free is amazing! It really helps him get outside and get his energy out. Also love that we can see the holiday set ups during the day as well.
It is hard to say what can be added or improved because it's already so great. Maybe, just the coffee shop open in the winter as well. We would come all year round.
I like that Hudson Gardens is so accessible and the variety of services. Bring back the concerts!
I love walking through here all summer and it's so beautiful in autumn! I would like a walking path on Platte River separate from cyclists.
Thank you for your contribution!
