Planning and design for the renovation of the Fairways at Lone Tree Park are underway. In response to public input, the small shade pavilion near the existing parking area will be replaced by a post-tension basketball half-court. Modern playground equipment and rubberized safety surfacing will increase accessibility to and around play equipment. Additional landscape features will protect vegetation and minimize erosion. A new shade pavilion, picnic tables, and benches will replace amenities at the end of their useful life to ensure comfort for park visitors. To optimize motor vehicle access to the park, the parking lot entryway will be realigned, parking spaces will be reconfigured, and the parking lot will be resurfaced.

    The contractor is completing final park improvements this month. Improvements include relocating the drinking fountain to ensure ADA accessibility, installing a bike rack, replacing the gravel path with stone pavers, and placing riprap around the playground drain outfall to minimize erosion. Keep an eye out for notifications regarding a dedication event in the park this summer.

    The Site Improvement Plan was approved by the City of Lone Tree and South Suburban received final construction drawings on May 21, 2024. The project has gone out to bid and a construction contract will be proposed during the July 10 meeting with the Board of Directors.
