South Suburban and Highlands Ranch Metro District partnered to plan and design a Pickleball Complex on the corner of Broadway and County Line.     Exterior components of the restroom buildings, small shade structures, and the City of Littleton’s storm sewer pipe connection are complete. The contractor is installing interior restroom finishes and concrete flatwork throughout the site. The District obtained easements and license agreements required for approval to install off-site utilities. Staff are in communication with Xcel and Comcast regarding the installation of the necessary infrastructure to service the site.

    Sport lighting poles were placed, and installation of the post-tension courts is ongoing. Repairs from the damage caused by storms over Memorial Day weekend are nearly complete. Work began on exterior components of the restroom buildings, small shade structures, and the City of Littleton storm pipe connection.

    The contractor located the existing City of Littleton storm pipe and identified an appropriate tie-in point for the new storm line. The interior restroom walls are complete, and the design team is verifying adjustments that were made to the northeast retaining wall in the field. Work began on the post-tension court slabs and sport lighting.

    The contractor is working diligently to locate an existing City of Littleton storm pipe and identify an appropriate tie-in point for the new storm line. The design team is adjusting the west entry drive along S Elati St. to avoid conflicts with existing drainage infrastructure. Interior walls of the west restroom and the northeast retaining wall are nearly complete. Work on the remaining retaining walls continues across the site along with construction of the east entryway walk between the proposed parking lot and pickleball courts

    Installation of water, storm, and sewer pipes within South Suburban property is nearly complete. Xcel is relocating gas and electrical lines to a new easement away from future courts and vertical structures. Douglas County issued permits for the restroom buildings, courts, fencing, and lighting. The contractor is now installing electrical conduit as well as concrete curb and gutter.

    The contractor began installation of water, storm, and sewer pipes in late January, this process will continue into February. The design consultant submitted plans to Douglas County for building, court, fencing, and lighting permits.

    The contractor completed overlot grading and is now installing storm drains. Communications regarding easements with neighboring property owners and utility providers are ongoing. A pre-construction meeting for on-site installation of the water and sewer main took place January 10, 2025.

    Overlot grading at the future pickleball complex is underway. Staff received legal descriptions and title work for requested easements. Easement agreements from neighboring property owners and utility providers are forthcoming.

    Representatives from South Suburban and Highlands Ranch Metro District came together to break ground on the new Southpark Pickleball Complex on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024.

    Construction fencing along the site perimeter was installed the week of October 7. Access to Private Drive will close beginning October 21 in preparation for a ground breaking ceremony that will take place Wednesday, October 23 from 2-3pm.
